Securely Transferring Files

Filex File Distribution System

Filex is a secure file distribution system that allows TAMU affiliates to upload files to a University-managed file server and send download links via email to specified recipients. Recipients can then download these hosted files directly from the Filex server. Hosting files on a central server for distribution instead of emailing them provides a secure method to send and receive files, saves email delivery time and storage space, and provides an automatic retention timeframe for file availability.

The application is available to all TAMU employees using your NetID and you can exchange files with anyone, even TAMU affiliates.

Files hosted on the Filex system will remain available for a minimum of seven days and as long as thirty days. After the retention period, the files are automatically deleted from the Filex server and cannot be recovered. Filex is intended to be an easy-to-use, secure file exchange solution, not a long-term storage solution.

The Filex application can be accessed at filex.tamu.edu and the documentation on how to use Filex can be found here.
